The MissionTo promote mental and emotional well-being and to demonstrate respect and dignity for people through competent, empathetic, and ethical practice. Grace Johnson works toward this mission by providing direct services, advocating for the advancement of the profession, and contributing to the development of students & professionals.
The Therapeutic ProcessThe beginning of treatment is focused on getting to know one another, building trust, and creating a therapeutic alliance. The client and clinician identify the clients presenting problems and strengths. Then, they collaboratively create goals and objectives. Because of the uniqueness of the process and the personal nature of this work, the approaches, interventions, and length of treatment will depend on the client. Ongoing open communication and a mutual commitment to the work will lay the foundation for the achievement of the desired outcomes.
